Day 8 - Thinking About Purpose

Today was an amazing day. It snowed!!! As I left work this afternoon, the sun was slowly setting, casting a gentleness across the fresh, white snow pack. The streets were quiet and the earth around me felt settled. There was a stillness in the air - the peace that I often feel early in the morning when I take Lucy for a walk and fully connect with Spirit.
The feeling of utter peace, tranquility, and gratitude brought me back to childhood memories...Growing up in Colorado, snow days were such fun. Waking up in the morning, grudgingly pulling on my clothes, waiting for the news to report school closures. There were at least 2 every year. Two days of sheer freedom. Two days to dig snow tunnels, make snow angels, sip hot cocoa, and feel fully connected with Nature.

Those feelings never go away! Even with all of the self-imposed work and deadlines adulthood seems to bring, the simplicity of life is all around us. It's taking the time to hone in, appreciate, and find the purpose in the small things that helps bring importance to the bigger ones.
